System 02 What it does
A focused reference system - not a promise that it knows everything.
FlintLore helps you search installed material and work with local AI when the internet is unavailable. It can still be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or inapplicable, so consequential information must be checked against qualified help and current authoritative sources.
Offline reference collections
Read and search installed text-readable collections locally. Some scanned archives are browse-only and cannot be searched or cited by the AI; FlintLore does not pretend otherwise.
Medical safety boundary
For protected medical routes, FlintLore blocks a generated personalized answer and displays gated, query-matched curated excerpts with warnings and emergency-help guidance.
Personal Library
Import authorized PDF or TXT files into a separately labeled library. Storage follows a rights attestation; indexing is a separate per-file action, and nothing is indexed automatically.
Local phone access
With the Mac powered on, a paired phone or tablet on the same local network can view the dashboard. The Mac performs the work; the phone is a viewer.
Optional photo features
Ask questions about a photo on Macs with 16 GB of memory (RAM) or more. Macs with 8 GB of memory get text answers only, and photo output is never treated as definitive identification.

This is an explanation of the product workflow, not a fabricated screenshot or a claim that every answer is cited.
Ask locally
Your question stays on the Mac during normal use. Personal Library mode searches only the separately indexed files you chose.
Retrieve and screen
FlintLore checks the relevant local collection and applies deterministic safety rules before the result reaches the answer surface.
Label the result
The interface distinguishes curated references, personal-document references, withheld answers, and protected medical excerpts.
Retrieved source context
Guarded AI Chat, Ask the Library, and grounded photo answers show the available source label and keep bounded retrieved passage context available for review. This is not claim-by-claim proof that every generated statement is correct, safe, current, or applicable.
Not enough source context
AI Chat declines instead of substituting general model knowledge when retrieval is weak or the generated wording strays too far from the returned passages.
No generated medical answer
Protected medical routes show gated source excerpts and emergency-first guidance rather than diagnosis, dosing, treatment selection, or personalized triage.

Your Mac's internal drive does not have to hold it: the installer can target a dedicated external SSD instead. That SSD must be connected when the Mac starts for FlintLore to run.
Photo questions need at least 16 GB of memory (RAM). Macs with 16-32 GB use the small vision model, and Macs with 64 GB or more use the large one. Macs with 8 GB of memory get text answers only.
Plan for time: setup can take several hours. A Complete installation may reasonably run overnight. Download time depends on connection speed, selected edition, memory profile, and source availability.

How does FlintLore show source context?
Guarded AI Chat, Ask the Library, and grounded photo answers show the available source label and bounded retrieved passage context. Those routes present generated wording only after their relevance and support checks pass; otherwise FlintLore withholds the generated answer. Personal Library mode uses matching passages from files you explicitly indexed, or declines. Retrieved passages are useful context, not claim-by-claim proof.
Does it provide medical advice or assess injuries?
No. FlintLore does not diagnose, prescribe, calculate medication doses, make personalized triage decisions, or determine whether an emergency exists. Protected medical routes show gated source excerpts, warnings, and emergency-help guidance instead of a generated personalized answer.

Core is the focused offline reference edition and should have about 150 GB free during setup. Complete adds large offline collections such as English Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg, and North America maps. Its same-volume fresh-setup baseline is 347-392 GiB before variable toolchain additions, so use a dedicated 1 TB-or-larger drive with additional headroom. You do not need a 1 TB internal drive: the installer can target a dedicated external SSD, as long as that SSD is connected when the Mac starts. On the same Mac, both use the same RAM-selected AI profile and the same safety rules.
Is this a subscription?
No. The intended launch offer is a one-time purchase with a perpetual license to use the purchased version, subject to the final EULA. Future updates, future content, and compatibility with future operating systems are not promised.
What happens to files in Personal Library?
You select local PDF or TXT files, attest that you are authorized to use them, and explicitly start indexing per file. The separate Personal Library label remains visible. FlintLore does not automatically index a stored file, and Personal Library content is excluded from protected medical answers.
What is the refund policy?
The final policy has not been configured because checkout is not open. FlintLore does not advertise a separate 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Before sales begin, the checkout policy, merchant handling, applicable law, and the published FlintLore refund policy will be reconciled and linked near every purchase action.
